They work just fine if you're playing a slow-paced game, but I can't stand using them for anything mildly action-heavy. The thing is, for as much as people rave about the Vita's d-pad (which is among the best I've used, tbf), I haven't seen many people talk about how the face buttons just kind of suck? They're just very small, with a bit too much travel, and feel very plasticky. I do love the way it looks, its aesthetics are on-point. Even though the screen is largely a downgrade, it's a newer system, in much better condition, and with less hassles to keep track of (burn-in, charging cable). I returned it, and imported an aqua blue Slim. I bought an original model around 2017 or so, mainly for remote play, but I didn't used it much because it was a used model with noticeable burn-in. I honestly don't have a lot of great things to say about the Vita. It is small and it’s easy to bring it with me. Games like YS: MoC, Disgaea 4, Oreshika, Tearaway, Persona 4 Golden, Little big planet, Virtua Tennis 4, Rogue Legacy, Gravity Rush and Hot Shots Golf made me want to always have the little handheld in the pocket.Īnd that’s a huge part of why I still take it with me if we’re going on a family trip. It became the home of niche japanese games and a perfect way to also play PSone and psp games. Maybe I was the problem, as wiiu gave me the exact same reaction back then.įast forward a few years and I used it more and more. Sure, it had a great screen (it was the first tine I saw an oled screen) and it had good launch and near launch games. Even friends who saw it and asked me if I would recommend it, I would reply «Naw, no not really». I got it close to launch, but I remember not being excited for it. The thread about Switch and Breath of the wild being 5 years old made me think about the Playstation Vita.
